Two clocks on home screen

Do you want to display two clocks of different time zones on your home screen..?
Just follow simple steps:
Goto Applications->World Clock
Press Options->Add
Now choose the time zone for the second clock and press OK.
Navigate to your second time zone and press Options->Display settings
Move Navi key to left or right so that Single changes to Dual and then choose the clock style.
Save your settings.
Now you have 2 clocks of different time zones on you phone's home screen.

Check your data usage

If you want to check how much data you have sent or recieved (how much MB of data you have used) through phone, click on the answer key above key "1", select "options" then goto Call Manager->Data counter. Check your data usage.

Installed java applications are unable to detect internet settings

Many times we install a JAVA application(which uses internet) and when we run it, it says "unable to connect to the internet". You can check the following settings in your phone:
Goto My Files->Games and more
goto the name of any application and press "Options"
goto Advanced->Connections
Select the GPRS setting you use.
Now you are ready to use your application properly.

PC websites on Mobile phone

Want to open PC-style websites on phone instead of their mobile versions...?
Just download the Bolt Browser. It opens the websites on phone in PC-Style.
When you open facebook in your SGH-L700, it opens the mobile version, but after installing Bolt Browser you can open any website in its original form (as in PC).

You can format your memory card by following these simple steps:
Goto Settings-->Memory Settings
If you want to format phone memory then select Clear Memory.
If you want to format Memory Card then you can choose Memory Card settings-->Format.

If you want to test your SGH L700, just press *#0*# and a window will pop-up with 11 options -

1. Red LCD
2. Green LCD
3. Blue LCD
4. Melody test
5. Vibration test
6. Dimming test
7. Mega Camera test
8. VGA Camera test
9. LCD ON/OFF
10. Sleep Mode test
11. Speaker test

Stream videos on SGH L700

You want to stream videos on your mobile phone?

For streaming videos, in the browser settings, just change the traffic class to "Streaming" and enjoy streaming videos on your phone.
Steps: goto Internet>Browser settings>(<operator name> GPRS)>Edit>Advanced options>Traffic Class>Streaming
Better you make a separate profile for streaming.
Some websites which provide streaming videos are:
m.youtube.com, m.vuclip.com
Many videos on youtube does not support the resolution of sgh l700, but m.vuclip.com is best for streaming videos on sgh l700....
But if you know any other website for streaming videos on SGH L700, please let me know....

Email settings for Samsung SGH L700

For gmail:
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
SMTP server requires authentication.
Gmail SMTP Server requires SSL on port 465.
Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.gmail.com (SSL enabled, port 995)

For yahoo:
Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465, use authentication)
 
You can send email directly from your mobile phone (from message inbox) to the desired email addresses without the need to open websites(gmail or yahoo, etc..)

For Hotmail:
Incoming – pop3.live.com using SPA with port 995
Outgoing – smtp.live.com using SSL with port 25

If you want automatic GPRS settings on your phone, just write "all" and send it to 121(Toll free) or just type "gprs" or "pi" or "mms" and send it to 121, you will get aircel gprs, mms, pocket internet settings. just open that message and select "install". your gprs is ready.... 


How to install games or applications in Samsung SGH L700

It is the most common question for all those who buy Samsung SGH L700.

Here is how you can delete this question from your mind. Its a time taking procedure, but we have to do it so that we can install our applications and games in SGH L700.

Follow these simple steps:

Plug your phone into the PC with USB Cable.

Now select "Media Player".

Open the folder "Phone"

In phone memory, you should see the folders Images, Other Files, Sounds, Videos.

Now, Create a new folder and name it "Games".

Now, in "Games"  just make folders of the applications you want to install. Make sure that in each application or game folder there must be *.jar & *.jad file for each application or game.

Now unplug the phone from PC.

Now, on the Phone, dial the code *#6984125*#

Select "Internals"

It will ask for a master key. Write *#9072641*#

Now select "Storage Setings"

"Update Java DB"

Now restart the phone. And your applications or games are installed.

To play the games, navigate to My Files>Games and more...

Start using your apps or games...

Note: Make individual folder (which includes .jar and .jad files) for each application or games.....
